Led by former Major Leaguer and Texas Rangers Hall of Fame member Rusty Greer, Rusty Greer Baseball School is dedicated to teaching today’s most forgotten part of the game—DEFENSE, as well as helping to develop leadership and motivational skills. Rusty is a highly qualified, professional instructor and his personal philosophies on leadership and approach to the game will help build the foundation for not only being a better player but also a better leader and teammate. Rusty feels his calling is to teach the game of baseball, but more importantly have a positive impact on young people’s lives through baseball, his personal philosophies, and his approach to the game.
We offer small group, position-specific instructional sessions and skill & drill nights. Summer instructional sessions begin in June and run through the end of August, and skill & drill nights begin in September and run through the end of January. Summer instructional sessions are high-intensity, high-energy sessions and they are designed to teach defensive mechanics and fundamentals that will help develop a player’s defensive game. Fall and winter skill & drill nights are designed to help players get their reps, maintain baseball shape, improve proper defensive fundamentals, and develop repeatable actions that are needed to be a successful defender. Skill & drill nights run weekly with multiple nights and multiple sessions per week.
"Rusty Greer Baseball School has not only helped me as a player but also as a person. I have learned how to overcome my shyness, become more confident both socially and on the field. I have learned many things such as the proper technique on a backhand and an extended backhand, long hop and short hop line drives and forehands. Rusty drives you to be better by making you do it over and over until you get it right. I have made many friends that enjoy the same love for baseball as I do. If your child loves baseball as much as I do you should definitely sign him up for a session at Rusty Greer Baseball School."
